Six MVB Matches Tabbed for Pac-12 Networks Broadcast

The Pac-12 Networks announced on Thursday that six UCLA men's volleyball matches will be broadcast during the upcoming 2023 season. A pair of non-conference battles kick off the coverage and feature home matches on Jan. 21 against UC San Diego (7 p.m.) and on February 9 against Long Beach State (8 p.m.). The Pac-12 Network will then televise the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) league opener against BYU on February 17 (7 p.m.). Both league matches against crosstown rival USC will be broadcast on April 6 and 8 at times to be determined. The regular season finale against MPSF foe Pepperdine will be aired on April 15 at a time to be determined.

Coach John Speraw's Bruins finished 22-5 in 2022 while capturing the regular season Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) title and advancing to the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship semifinals. The list of returning players includes MPSF Player of the Year Miles Partain. The junior setter was also a first-team AVCA All-America selection, as well as a finalist for the Lloy Ball Award as the best setter in the country. UCLA also welcomes back a pair of first-team AVCA All-America selections in middle blocker Merrick McHenry and outside hitter Ethan Champlin. McHenry was a 2022 finalist for the Ryan Millar Award as the nation's top middle attacker. In addition, the Bruins return middle blocker Guy Genis who was the 2022 MPSF Freshman of the Year.

The balance of UCLA's 2023 men's volleyball schedule will be released in the coming days. The Bruins are slated to host the annual Fall SAC Invitational Tournament of exhibition matches this year on Nov. 18 and 19.
