UCLA's Jack Landherr IV was named on Monday evening as one of 10 semifinalists for the Patrick Mannelly Award which is presented to the nation's top collegiate FBS long-snapper. The Award, named after former NFL long snapper Patrick Mannelly, benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit that provides books for underserved communities in the Chicago, Illinois area.  This will be the fourth year the Award has been presented to the top snapper.

Landherr IV has successfully executed snaps for all of UCLA's place kicks and punts for the last 38 straight games over the 2019-2022 seasons. Kicker Nicholas Barr-Mira has converted all of his extra point attempts this season and has gone 12 for 17 on field goal attempts. Landherr IV has also been an impactful performer down the field on punt return coverage. In addition, the senior has excelled off the field earning a spot on the Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll in both 2021 and 2022.  He has also been recognized on the UCLA Athletic Director's Honor Roll from 2019-2022. In 2021-22, Landherr IV was selected to the first-team CoSIDA 2021-22 Academic All-District Football Team.

The Patrick Mannelly Award, created in 2019, benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a non-profit organization located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Long snappers are the ultimate unsung heroes of football. No successful field goal, extra point or punt can happen without a good snap to get it started. Bernie's Book Bank has a similar role – no child can learn to read without books. BBB serves behind the scenes yet is an integral player in the literacy equation.

The list of semifinalists for the Mannelly Award will be narrowed to three finalists that will be announced on November 28, 2022. The winner is to be selected at the live Award ceremony in Lake Bluff on December 10, 2022.
