UCLA Gymnastics Ranked No. 10 in Preseason Poll

UCLA enters the 2023 season ranked No. 10 in the preseason rankings, as voted upon by the coaches of the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA). The Bruins have received a Top 10 preseason ranking in every preseason poll of record since 1997.

Defending NCAA champion Oklahoma narrowly earned the top spot with 1727 points and 22 first-place votes, edging Florida, which received 1724 points and 21 first-place votes. No. 3 Utah (2) and No. 4 Michigan (4) were the only other teams to receive first-place votes. Other teams ranked in the Top 10 are No. 5 Auburn, No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Alabama, No. 8 California and No. 9 Missouri.

All eight Pac-12 schools are ranked in the Top 25, with No. 14 Oregon State, No. 17 Stanford, No. 21 Washington, No. 24 Arizona State and No. 25 Arizona joining the Top 10 trio of Utah, California and UCLA.

UCLA, under first-year head coach Janelle McDonald, hosts its Meet the Bruins season preview on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6pm in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom. The event is free and open to the public. It will also be aired on Pac-12 Insider. Bruin fans will be treated to a sneak peek of UCLA's new routines, including new floor exercise routines choreographed by assistant coach BJ Das.

The Bruins will be hosting four regular season home meets in 2023, beginning with the season opener on Jan. 29 against Oregon State at 3pm. That meet will feature two Olympic and World medalists from Team USA - UCLA's Jordan Chiles and Oregon State's Jade Carey - competing against each other. UCLA also hosts home meets against Arizona State on Feb. 11, Stanford on Mar. 5 and No. 30 Iowa State on Mar. 11. UCLA will also host the NCAA Regionals from Mar. 29 through April 1. ย ย
