Ereño Perez Leads UCLA in 18th Overall Finish at The Goodwin

STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Pablo Ereño Perez recorded his second top-20 placing of the season to lead the UCLA men's golf team in its 18th overall finish (+9, 849) out of 28 teams at The Goodwin hosted on Stanford Golf Course on Saturday.
Ereño Perez shot a 5-under 65 with eight birdies in round two on Friday and a 1-over 71 in round three yesterday to finish the tournament in 14th at 6-under 204.
No. 9 Washington took the title by four strokes at 22-under 818. Nevada's Peyton Callens won the individual crown with a 13-under 197.
Graduate Eddy Lai was the only other Bruin to finish the tournament under par, recording a 1-under 209 to tie for 35th. Lai notched back-to-back 1-over 71 rounds on days two and three.
Alvaro Mueller shot a 6-over 76 on day two and a 2-over 72 on day three to tie for 99th. Mueller secured a pair of birdies in both rounds.
Freshman Omar Morales tied for 108th following a 6-over 76 and 3-over 73 in his final rounds. Freshman Evan Chien was the Bruins' last counting score in round three with his 2-over 72 featuring three birdies.
UCLA is back in action in two weeks when it competes at the Thunderbird Collegiate on Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz. The 54-hole, two-day stroke play event begins Friday, April 15, and ends Saturday, April 16.
