UCLA Drops Tuesday Decision to Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. โ The No. 22-ranked UCLA baseball team absorbed a 9-2 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday night.
The Titans (19-27) scored in each of the first four innings of the game to build an 8-0 lead, and never let UCLA get within five.
The Bruins (30-18) put at least one runner on base in eight of nine offensive frames, but only managed to knock in a single run in the sixth and eighth.
Graduate first baseman Jake Palmer had three singles in four at-bats to lead the Bruins. Freshman Cody Schrier and graduate left fielder Kenny Oyama both had RBI singles, and sophomore center fielder Carson Yates hammered a leadoff triple in the eighth.
The Bruins were led on the mound by junior lefty Josh Hahn and junior righty Charles Harrison, who each posted a three-up, three-down relief inning.
Second baseman Jackson Lyon went 4-5 with four runs to pace the hosts. Six separate CSF batters had multi-hit performances. The Titans used seven different pitchers to cover the game, with only two of those two hurlers allowing runs.
UCLA returns to Jackie Robinson Stadium this weekend for its final home series of the year, hosting Washington State for three games starting on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. PT. All three games against the Cougars will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
