Barr-Mira converted all four of his field-goal attempts, including the game-winning kick on the game's final play, to help the Bruins defeat South Alabama 32-31. In addition to the game-deciding kick, which came from 24 yards out, Barr-Mira added a career-long 49-yard field goal in the first quarter. The total of four field goals made was also a career-best mark for the redshirt junior. He totaled 14 points in all on the day, moving into a tie for 19th place on the program's all-time scoring list in the process. For good measure, Barr-Mira placed a fourth-quarter punt out of bounds at the South Alabama 10-yard line to give him a career-long 46-yard strike.
The Bruins open Pac-12 Conference play on the road this Saturday at 11 a.m. PT at Colorado. That contest will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. UCLA will return to Pasadena the following week for a Friday night (Sept. 30) matchup against Washington in the Pac-12 home-opener.
