He was honored with the league's weekly award on Dec. 19, 2022, after the Bruins had won games at Maryland and versus Kentucky in New York City.
Bailey, a 6-foot-5 guard from Chicago, Ill., has been honored as the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the third time this season. Bailey and Oregon State's Jordan Pope lead the league in "Freshman of the Week" award selections this season, with three each.
Last week, Jaquez Jr. averaged 16.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a pair of victories at Oregon State and Oregon. He connected on 10 of 16 shots at Gill Coliseum as UCLA raced to a 27-point lead with just under five minutes to play in the second half. Bailey finished the two-game road trip having averaged 16.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest. Since returning from a left foot injury, Bailey has averaged 13.2 points and 2.4 rebounds, shooting 57.1 percent from the field in five games.
