SAN FRANCISCO – Londynn Jones has been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week as announced Monday. Jones earns her first Pac-12 Women's Basketball Performance Award, presented by Nextiva, with the honor.
The freshman scored a game-high 19 points on Friday in UCLA's 67-54 win over Cal; the guard shot 7-for-12 from the field, sinking three of her four three-point attempts in the victory. Friday's mark was the sixth time this season Jones has led the Bruins in scoring.
Jones is averaging 11.7 points per game in conference matchups, and she is leading the conference in FT% (.905, min. 2 FTM/G). The Riverside, Calif., native ranks third in the conference in three-point field goal percentage during Pac-12 play (.484 3FG%), and she is the only player in the conference shooting better than 45.0% while making two or more three-pointers per game (2.0-for-4.1 3FG).
