LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's rowing team was defeated by USC in a dual-meet regatta at the Port of Los Angeles on Saturday morning, the Bruins' first official races of the spring rowing season.
 
USC won by a 7-0 margin in the morning's point scoring totals.
 
UCLA's varsity eight finished less than five seconds behind USC, posting a final racing time of 6:41.71. USC crossed the finish line in the V8+ race in 6:36.90.
 
The Bruins' second varsity eight crew registered a final time of 7:02.99, while USC clocked a time of 6:49.89.
 
The Bruins' varsity four crew finished its race less than seven second behind USC (7:38.70). UCLA's V4+ finished the race in 7:45.00.
 
UCLA's third varsity eight crew crossed the finish line six seconds behind USC (6:59.60). The Bruins' 3V8+ posted a final time of 7:05.60.
 
The Bruins' second varsity eight boat recorded a first-place finish with a time of 8:03.30. USC crossed the finish line nearly 15 seconds after the Bruins, with a racing time of 8:19.05.
 
The UCLA women's rowing program will return to action in three weeks at the San Diego Crew Classic. Racing days are set for Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2.
