GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Caroline Canales led the No. 22 UCLA women's golf team with her fifth top-10 finish of the season at the Vystar Credit Union Gator Invitational at Mark Bostic Golf Course on Sunday. The Bruins finished ninth out of 14 teams at 26-over (296-290).
Due to Saturday's cancelation due to rain, the tournament adjusted to just 36 holes, all played on Sunday. No. 27 Florida won the event by four strokes at 3-over par for the tournament. UCF's Pimpisa Sisutahm was victorious after a three-hole playoff with Florida's Maisie Filler. The two golfers finished at 7-under through 36 holes.
Canales finished 1-over in a tie for eighth (71-70). She parred 30 out of 36 of her holes.
Zoe Antoinette Campos tied for 21st at 5-over (72-73) and Alessia Nobilio tied for 32nd at 7-over (74-73).
The Bruins are back in action March 27-29 at the University Hawai'i Spring Break Classic in Maui, Hawaii at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course.
