SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA guard/forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. has been named the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season, just two days after the Bruins finished the regular season with a 27-4 record and an 18-2 mark in Pac-12 play.
 
Jaquez Jr. averaged 24.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games last week, as UCLA defeated Arizona State on Thursday night and Arizona on Saturday evening. Jaquez Jr., a 6-foot-7 guard/forward from Camarillo, Calif., shot 47.2 percent from the field and was 13-for-14 at the free throw line (92.9%). He also totaled three assists and three steals through both games.
 
Playing in his final two home games for UCLA, Jaquez Jr. finished with 26 points and seven rebounds against Arizona State last Thursday and 22 points and 10 rebounds versus Arizona on Saturday.
 
Jaquez Jr. and Arizona State's Desmond Cambridge Jr. are the only players in the Pac-12 this season to have earned the league's "Player of the Week" award at least three times. Jaquez Jr. previously was honored as the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Dec. 19, 2022 and on Feb. 13, 2023. Cambridge Jr. has been honored as the league's weekly selection three times this year.
 
UCLA (27-4) concluded its regular-season schedule with an 82-73 win over Arizona on Saturday night. The Bruins won the Pac-12 regular-season title with a four-game lead over second-place Arizona, securing the No. 1-seed in the upcoming Pac-12 Tournament.
 
UCLA will face either No. 8-seed Washington or No. 9-seed Colorado in a quarterfinal matchup of the Pac-12 Tournament on Thursday, March 9. Game time is 12 p.m. (PT) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Washington will face Colorado in a first-round contest on Wednesday at 12 p.m. (PT).
