No. 3 UCLA stretched its winning streak to five games with a 15-7 win over No. 9 Fresno State.

LOS ANGELES – No. 3 UCLA (17-4) jumped out to a 7-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in defeating No. 9 Fresno State (14-8), 15-7 on Thursday afternoon at Dirks Pool at Spieker Aquatics Center.

Eight different Bruins got into the scoring column, led by freshmen Sienna Green and Anna Pearson, who each scored a hat trick. Sophomore Emma Lineback, junior Malia Allen, and graduate student Katrina Drake each scored twice for UCLA, which improved to 6-0 all-time against the Bulldogs.

Redshirt senior Georgia Phillips got the start in the cage and played the first half, tallying six saves while allowing four goals. All four of the Bruins' goalkeepers saw action in the game. Freshman Izzy Rosensitto made her second appearance of the season and played the third quarter, giving up one goal and tallying two saves. Sophomore MJ Bailey and junior Sydney Chiang split time in the fourth quarter with each totaling two stops while allowing one goal apiece. Bailey made her debut for the Bruins against Fresno State after transferring in from Iona.

UCLA got off to a hot start, leading 7-2 at the end of the first period, 10-4 at halftime, and 15-5 through the third period. The Bulldogs won the fourth quarter, 2-0, to provide the 15-7 final.

Hailey Andress led Fresno State with three goals while Paula Nieto Jasny registered seven saves while allowing 15 goals in a complete game.

The Bruins return to action this weekend when they visit No. 19 Arizona State on Saturday, Apr. 8 at 1:00 p.m. PT.
