STANFORD, Calif. -- No. 4 UCLA (24-2) posted its third win over 10th-ranked Stanford (19-8) this season on Friday afternoon with a 4-1 victory at the Cardinal's Beach Volleyball Stadium at the Pac-12 North Invitational. The Bruins improved to 19-0 all-time against Stanford with the win.

Junior Peri Brennan and graduate student Abby Van Winkle got the Bruins on the board first with a 21-17, 22-20 win on court two over Charlie Ekstrom and Maya Harvey. The Bruin duo improved to 17-0 on the year (14-0 on court two and 3-0 on court one).

Sophomore Jessie Smith and junior Tessa Van Winkle put UCLA up 2-0 with a come-from-behind 19-21, 21-6, 15-11 win on court four over Stanford's Kelly Belardi and Ashley Vincent. The Bruin pair improved to 6-2 on the year, (5-2 on court three and 1-0 on court four).

Graduate students Marlie Monserez and Jaden Whitmarsh clinched the dual for the Bruins with a 21-15, 21-11 win on court five over the Cardinal's Line Andersson and Sophie Kubiak, 21-15, 21-11.

Senior Lexy Denaburg and freshman Maggie Boyd lost a heartbreaker on court one to Stanford's Xolani Hodel and Maddi Kriz, 21-16, 19-21, 14-16. The UCLA dropped to 15-4 on the season, all on court one.

Senior Rileigh Powers and graduate student Haley Hallgren moved up to court three for the first time this season and turned in a comeback for the ages to provide the final point in the dual. Down 12-9 and 14-12 with two match points against them in the third set, the Bruin duo rallied to defeat Kate Reilly and Emmy Sharp, 23-21, 21-23, 17-15, to remain undefeated on the year at 24-0 (1-0 on court three, 18-0 on court four, and 5-0 on court five).

The Bruins return to action tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. when they take on No. 13 Washington and then finish the day against Arizona at 11:00 a.m.
