LOS ANGELES – Jordan Woolery and Maya Brady led the No. 3 UCLA softball offense with a home run apiece in its 6-0 victory over Oregon State at Easton Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins (36-4, 12-3) secure their ninth consecutive win and second Pac-12 series sweep of the season.
Woolery, who homered twice in game one of the series on Thursday, blasted her third homer of the weekend with a three-run shot to right-center field in the first inning. The freshman is now up to 39 total runs batted in this season which ranks fourth in the conference and second among Pac-12 freshmen, trailing only Megan Grant with 42.
Starting pitcher Megan Faraimo rode that run support in her five scoreless innings to pick up her conference-leading 19th win of the season.
Faraimo struck out six Beavers (11-23-1, 2-12-1) in her outing. The Oceanside, Calif. native is riding a 26.0 scoreless innings streak which dates back to her relief appearance in game two at Oregon on March 26. It is the longest single-season scoreless innings streak of her career, surpassing the previous mark of 25.1 innings to close the 2020 season.
The longest scoreless innings streak of Faraimo's career is 32.0, stretching across the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Megan Grant and Maya Brady went first-pitch swinging to begin the bottom of the third. After Grant recorded her second leadoff single of the game, Brady stepped to the plate next and promptly hit a two-run homer with a rocket out to center field.
UCLA added one more in the fourth inning on two singles by Anna Vines and Kennedy Powell and two walks drawn by Janelle Meoño and Brady, the latter of which plated Vines.
Powell went a combined 4-for-4 in the final two games on the series.
Faraimo allowed just two hits in her performance and only one Oregon State runner reached scoring position, coming in the third inning.
Left-hander Lauren Shaw closed the game in the sixth and seventh with two strikeouts.
Next, UCLA travels to Tucson, Ariz. to take on No. 20 Arizona in a three-game series at Rita Hillenbrand Stadium from April 14-16. The three games will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. Game one on Friday will begin at 6 p.m. (PT).
