IRVINE, Calif. – The UCLA baseball team endured a 12-3 midweek loss at UC Irvine's Anteater Ballpark on Tuesday night in the final contest of an eight-game road trip.

The Bruins (24-16-1) rapped out 11 hits as a team, their fourth consecutive game with double-digit knocks. However, UCLA couldn't string enough of them together, scoring in just two frames.

UCI (28-13) scored at least one run in each of its eight offensive innings, building a 4-0 lead by the end of the third.

The Bruins were led on offense by freshman outfielder Jarrod Hocking, who went 3-4 for his second consecutive three-hit game.

Sophomore shortstop Duce Gourson added a double and an RBI single, and senior Josh Hahn had a pair of base hits while also drawing the start on the mound.

UCLA used a total of seven pitchers on the night.

The Bruins return to Jackie Robinson Stadium for their next seven games, starting this weekend with a Pac-12 series against California. That three-game set gets underway on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. PT.
