LÉON, Mexico – UCLA women's basketball alum Nirra Fields earned third place at the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup with team Canada, besting Puerto Rico 80-73 in the bronze medal match.
Fields led Canada in scoring with a team-high 19 points, shooting 7-of-18 in the game. She grabbed three rebounds and added a block and a steal to her box score. The Canadian hooper scored 12 points in the second half to help lead her national team to the seven-point victory.
Throughout the July tournament, the Bruin graduate averaged a team-best 14.4 points per game and dished out 1.9 assists per game.
