Reale Named Pac-12 Defensive Player of Week

UCLA junior Lilly Reale was selected the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, the Bruins' fifth selection in the last six weeks.

Reale, the reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, played all 90 minutes and made big defensive stops in UCLA's 1-0 win at No. 24 Arizona State on Oct. 22. Reale and the Bruins allowed just five shots against Arizona State's third-ranked offense and recorded their 10th shutout of the season. Against Arizona, the Bruin defense allowed just two shots. They have held opponents to single-digit shots in 14 of the team's 15 games this year and lowered their team goals against average to 0.53 while winning their 10th and 11th consecutive games.

This is UCLA's ninth Pac-12 Player of the Week award in 2023, the most of any school in the conference.ย Reale now has three career Defensive Player of the Week awards.
