LOS ANGELES – Graduate student Charisma Osborne has been named Honorable Mention for the Associated Press preseason women's basketball All-America team, the AP announced Tuesday.
Osborne is coming off an All-Pac-12 season after leading UCLA in points (571 PTS, 15.9 PPG), rebounds (211 REB, 5.9 RPG) and steals (52). The shooting guard also earned WBCA All-America Honorable Mention and All-Pac-12 Defensive Team Honorable Mention, and she was a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week (Nov. 21, Dec. 5) during her senior campaign. Over the summer, Osborne represented Team USA at the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in July, averaging 5.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game en route to a silver medal.
The fifth-year Bruin was also named to the Preseason Watchlist for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award on Oct. 17.
University of Iowa's Caitlin Clark was a unanimous pick for the AP preseason women's basketball All-America team for the second consecutive season. She is joined by LSU's Angel Reese, Virginia Tech's Elizabeth Kitley, Stanford's Cameron Brink, UConn's Paige Bueckers and Indiana's Makenzie Holmes on the 2023-24 AP preseason All-America team. Kitley and Holmes tied in the voting for the fifth spot.
