Cook, Reale Named Academic All-Americans

UCLA women's soccer standouts Ally Cook and Lilly Reale have been named to the 2023 Women's Soccer Academic All-America teams selected by the College Sports Communicators. They become the first women's soccer players in nine years to receive the honor and just the fourth and fifth Bruins ever. UCLA student-athletes have earned a total of 141 Academic All-America awards.

Cook, a graduate student from Coto de Caza, Calif., earned first-team honors after posting GPAs of 3.97 (undergraduate) and 3.93 (graduate). A two-time Academic All-District honoree at UCLA and at Oregon, Cook earned first-team All-Pacific Region and All-Pac-12 honors after totaling nine goals and 19 points, numbers that ranked second-best on the Bruin team this season. Over her career, she totaled 31 goals and 72 points and racked up three All-Pac-12 awards.

Reale, a sociology major with a 3.74 gpa, received second-team academic acclaim. The Hingham, Mass. native is a two-time All-American, earning first-team honors this season after leading UCLA's defense to 11 shutouts and a 0.63 goals against average. Reale's many career awards include two Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year awards, the 2022 Honda Sport Award, the 2022 College Cup Most Outstanding Defensive Player and three first-team All-Pacific Region and All-Pac-12 honors.
