March 01, 2023 | Women's Basketball

SAN FRANCISCO – Three Bruins have earned Pac-12 awards as voted on by members of media who cover the Conference, the league office released Wednesday.

Senior Charisma Osborne made media All-Pac-12, and freshmen Londynn Jones and Kiki Rice earned All-Freshman for the 2022-23 campaign.

Osborne led the Bruins in scoring (15.3 ppg) and rebounding (5.9 rpg), and she has the most minutes played (953 minutes) and steal (42 steals) on the team. The senior recorded a single-season-high five double-doubles in her 29 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign, and she was two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week this season. Osborne became the 15th Bruin in UCLA women's basketball history to reach 1,600 career points (vs. Oregon State, Feb. 10), currently sitting at 1,671 points over the past four years.

Jones and Rice had each previously earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors during their first collegiate campaign. Both first year players averaged more than 10 points per game in conference play (Jones – 11.3 ppg; Rice – 10.8 ppg) and saw more than 20 minutes on the floor per game (Jones – 22.8 mpg; Rice – 27.2 mpg). The duo were two of the four Bruins who appeared in all 30 games during the season.

Jones finished the regular season with the highest three-point field goal percentage on the team (.374 3FG%, 43-115) and shot a team-best 88.2% from the free throw line. The guard ranked third in the Pac-12 during conference play in three-point percentage (.466 3FG%) and fourth in free throw percentage (.870 FT%).

Rice was second on the team in scoring (11.3 ppg), assists (2.9 apg), steals (1.4 spg) and minutes played 27.8 mpg, 834 min). The freshman averaged 4.7 rebounds per game, trailing only Charisma Osborne and Emily Bessoir on the boards. The Bethesda, Md., native was third in the conference in points scored (335 pts) among first-year players, 22nd in the Pac-12 among all players.
