Women's Rowing Registers Multiple Top-Three Finishes in Oregon

LOWELL, Ore. – The UCLA women's rowing program recorded top-three finishes in the three varsity eight races, both in the morning and afternoon sessions, on Saturday at the Dexter Lake Invitational.
UCLA's varsity eight crew finished ahead of No. 17-ranked USC in the afternoon V8+ race on Dexter Lake, recording a second-place finish with a final racing time of 6:55.8. The Bruins' V8+ crew finished in third place, out of eight boats, in Saturday's morning race.
In all, UCLA raced its top two varsity eight crews, one varsity four and the third varsity eight in morning and afternoon racing sessions (totaling eight races).
UCLA's third varsity eight finished in first place in the morning session and in second place in the afternoon (against three others boats from USC, Oregon State and Gonzaga.
The Bruins' second varsity eight tallied a second-place finish in the morning, with a time of 6:35.90, and registered a third-place finish in the afternoon (7:11.90).
UCLA's varsity four crew finished in third place in the afternoon session, after having registered a fourth-place finish in the morning session. UCLA's V4+ boat posted a final racing time of 8:00.10 in the afternoon, just five seconds behind second-place competitor Oregon State.
Saturday's races against Oregon State, USC, Gonzaga, Wisconsin, UCF, Minnesota and Loyola Marymount marked the Bruins' final spring races until the Pac-12 Championships, scheduled for Sunday, May 14. UCLA will return to Lowell, at Dexter Lake, for the season-culminating Pac-12 Championships in two weeks.
