No. 4 UCLA Goes Undefeated at Pac-12 North Invitational

STANFORD, Calif.ย -- No. 4ย UCLA (26-2) posted two more wins on Saturdayย to go 4-0 at the Pac-12 North Invitational at Stanford's GSB Courts. The Bruins defeatedย No. 13 Washington (13-12), 3-2, in the morning match andย then defeated Arizona (18-6), 4-1, in the afternoon.
In the first dual against the Washington Huskies, the Bruins improved to 12-0 all-time in the series. Graduate students Haley Hallgren teamed up with sophomore Sophie Moore for the first time this season and clinched the Bruins' dual win on court three with aย 21-14, 21-14 victory over Scarlett Dahl and Paloma Bowman.
In the second dual against the Wildcats, the Bruins improved to 11-2 in the series with their seventh-straight win over Arizona. Moore again clinched the Bruins' victory alongside a new partner in Lexy Denaburg on court two. The duo rallied to take down Arizona's Abby Russell and Hope Shannon, 19-21, 21-10, 15-8.
The Bruins return to action next week in their final regular-season tournament when they face No. 18 Pepperdineย at the Center of Effort Challenge in San Luis Obispo, Calif., on Friday, Apr. 14 at 11:15 a.m. UCLA will also get a crack at current No. 1 TCU, the only undefeated team left in the country at 4:15 p.m. and will play Cal Poly again at 11:30 a.m. on Apr. 15.
