Campos Finishes Runner-Up, Bruins End Season at NCAA San Antonio Regional

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The UCLA women's golf team concluded its 2022-23 season with an eighth-place finish (+30, 900) at the NCAA San Antonio Regional at TPC San Antonio on Wednesday.
Sophomore Zoe Antoinette Campos finished runner-up at -4 (70-72-70) for the tournament. UTSA's Camryn Carreon earns the individual automatic bid from the Regional after winning the event by six strokes at -10 (71-67-68).
No. 18 Pepperdine, SMU, No. 22 Oklahoma State, No. 6 Texas A&M and New Mexico are among the top five teams advance to the NCAA Championships held May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Waves and Mustangs both tied for first at +9 as a team.
Campos birdied five times in her final round of the season. The All-Pac-12 selection ended the season hot, shooting under par in 10 of her last 12 rounds of the year.
Sophomore Caroline Canales placed within the top 20, tying for 16th at +5 over her three rounds (71-75-75).
Alessia Nobilio finished in 47th at +17 (78-79-76), Yuki Yoshihara tied for 49th at +19 (79-79-77) and Emilie Paltrinieri shot a 4-over 76 in her round today as a substitute for Annabel Wilson.
This marks the final tournament of legendary UCLA head coach Carrie Forsyth's career. In her 24 years leading the Bruins' program, Forsyth won two NCAA Championships, nine NCAA Regional Championships and 74 tournament titles. Forsyth's five Pac-12 Championships rank second in conference history and lead all active coaches.
