Brooks, Flanagan Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

LOS ANGELES โ College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) has announced that UCLA baseball players Jake Brooks and Ethan Flanagan have been named to the 2022-23 Division I Academic All-District Baseball Team.
Academic All-District honorees automatically advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Winners will be announced on Jun. 7.
Voting for Academic All-America baseball teams run through Tuesday, May 23 at 8:59 p.m. PT.
Brooks, a junior right-handed pitcher majoring in sociology, has accrued a 3.61 GPA to this point in his UCLA career. On the field, he has served as UCLA's Friday night starter in each of the past two seasons, going 13-9 with a 4.81 ERA and 147 strikeouts over 153 1/3 innings spanning 39 appearances. As of May 16, Brooks holds top-five marks in the Pac-12 in wins (five, second), walks allowed per nine innings (2.3, third), and strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.0, fourth).
Flanagan, a sophomore left-handed pitcher, has posted a 3.53 cumulative GPA thus far. A Freshman All-American and All-Pac-12 choice in 2022, Flanagan worked his way back from injury early on this season to regain a spot in the weekend rotation. For his career, he's pitched to a 4-1 record with a 3.98 ERA and 102 strikeouts in 86 innings.
