Women First, Men Second at LMU South Bay Twilight

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Cross Country completed competition at the 2023 LMU South Bay Twilight late Friday evening at Wilson Park with a women's first-place team finish and a second-place team finish on the men's side.
The Bruins started the night of races with a dominant performance in the women's 6k race; Mia Kane (20:57.7), Kaho Cichon (21:06.6) and Brooke Johnston (21:10.8) finished one-two-three to claim all spots on the podium. UCLA claimed five of the top six times in the race, and had seven racers finish in the top 10. The Bruins finished with 17 points, claiming a huge win over USC (67 points), San Diego (69 points), Chapman (103 points) and Pepperdine (132 points).
UCLA men's cross country followed it up with a second-place team finish in the LMU-hosted meet. Dylan Wilbur (24:36.0) crossed second in the race as the top finisher for the Bruins. Patrick Curulla (4th – 24:52.5) and Harrison Dance (9th – 25:16.0) also finished in the top 10 of the race. Loyola Marymount (23 points) placed first as a team, followed by UCLA (36 points), Pepperdine (85 points), San Diego (112 points) and Chapman (142 points).
