LOS ANGELES – UCLA Track & Field will start its outdoor season on March 7, the Sherie L. and Donald G. Morrison UCLA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Avery Anderson announced Friday.
The Bruins begin outdoor competition the same weekend as the NCAA Indoor National Championships (March 8-9 – Albuquerque, N.M.) at three local meets in Southern California. UCLA will compete in 11 regular-season meets before the postseason begins in May.
UCLA Track & Field is set to host three home meets: the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival (March 22), the Rafer Johnson / Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational (March 23) and the UCLA "Legends" Invitational (April 13). The Bruins will face the Trojans in the final regular-season meet of the year, going to crosstown rival USC on April 28 for the annual dual meet between the squads. UCLA came out victorious on the men's side, winning 88-70 in the 2023 meeting of the teams.
The postseason start May 10 in Boulder, Colo., as the University of Colorado hosts the 2024 Pac-12 Championships. The NCAA West Regional will be held in Fayetteville, Ark., two weeks later. The outdoor national championships are set to take place in Eugene, Ore., from June 5-8; UCLA Track & Field finished the 2023 national championships with 21 student-athletes capturing All-America honors.
