SAN RAMON, Calif. – Tian Fangran of the UCLA women's tennis team was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the week of March 4-10, the conference announced Tuesday. The award marked Tian's second in as many weeks and third this season.

The Bruins opened Pac-12 play with a pair of dominant performances, beating Washington State 7-0 (March 8) and No. 25 Washington 4-0 (March 9). Tian defended her home turf with two top-court singles wins and a clinching doubles victory.

One day after taking down Eva Alvarez Sande of the Cougars 6-1, 4-6, 1-0(5), Tian topped the Huskies' Erika Matsuka 6-4, 6-1 to put a second point on the board for UCLA. She also played a major part in obtaining the first point against Washington, teaming with Elise Wagle to defeat Matsua and Dariya Detkovskaya 6-4 on the second doubles court after decisions on the other two were split.

Tian has won five singles matches in a row, a streak that coincides with the Bruins' five-win run as a team.

In addition to her three Pac-12 Player of the Week awards this season, Tian was honored once en route to her NCAA singles championship in 2023. UCLA has collected 43 of the accolades in program history.
