LOS ANGELES -- No. 1 UCLA (16-0, 2-0 MPSF) opened a four-game home stand with a 23-4 win over visiting Biola (6-12) in the first-ever meeting between the two teams on Saturday afternoon at Dirks Pool at Spieker Aquatics Center.

The Bruins had 12 players score in the contest, paced by a career-high five goals from freshman Dania Innis. Freshman Natasha Kieckhafer tied her career high with a hat trick. Five other Bruins scored multiple goals, including graduate student Hannah Palmer, junior Nicole Struss, sophomores Lily Gess and Anna Pearson, and freshman Olivia Ouellette, each with two goals.

Freshman Lauren Steele got the start in the cage and played the first quarter, recording two saves while allowing one goal (penalty shot). Senior Sydney Chiang played the second period and also had two stops and added one steal while pitching a shutout. Freshman Joey Niz played the third quarter and had a game-high six saves while also pitching a shutout. Junior MJ Bailey played the fourth period and had five saves while allowing three goals.

The Bruins led 9-1 at the end of the first period after scoring the game's first six goals. UCLA would pitch a shutout in the second quarter, scoring six more times to take a 15-1 lead into the break. Another defensive shutout in the third for the Bruins saw UCLA take an 18-1 lead into the final stanza, winning the third period, 3-0. The Bruins won the fourth quarter, 5-3, to provide the 23-4 final.

UP NEXT: The Bruins continue a four-game home stand with Princeton at 1:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, Mar. 16 and then host San Jose State on Sunday, Mar. 17 at 1:00 p.m. PT at Dirks Pool at Spieker Aquatics Center.
