CARLSBAD, Calif. – The UCLA women's golf team sits in sixth place (+10, 874) after the third day of the NCAA Championships at the Omni Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. With their sixth-place finish, the Bruins advanced to Monday's fourth and final round of stroke play.
The Bruins concluded the third day of action 20 strokes shy of Texas A&M (-10, 854) in first place and are one stroke behind fifth place Northwestern (+9, 873).
Adela Cernousek of Texas A&M leads the field through 54 holes at -12 (204), while UCLA's Caroline Canales and Zoe Antoinette Campos finished at one-over on Sunday, and both sit tied for 17th overall.
The course conditions were difficult throughout the day for all 30 programs. Only one school, Stanford, managed to shoot under par as a team, and only 12 individuals shot rounds under par.
UCLA finished the round +12 for the day and +10 for the tournament, putting the Bruins sixth overall and under the cut line by nine spots. Florida State took the final spot in Monday's fourth round at +25 (889). After Monday's round the top eight teams will then compete in match play competition starting Tuesday to determine a National Champion.
All five Bruins finished within three shots of each other on Sunday. Campos recorded the lowest round of the day when she finished +2 on the day. The junior shot three-over on her first nine holes before firing a bogey-free second nine, while adding in a birdie on the fifth hole to shoot -1 on the second nine. She finished the day +1 overall for the tournament and in a tie for 17th.
Canales finished the day tied for 17th as well after she carded a +4 round of 76. Canales round featured a birdie on 18, as well as 13 pars throughout the round. Kate Villegas also scored for the Bruins on Sunday, as she shot +3 (75). After double bogeying her opening hole, Villegas responded by only shooting +1 the remainder of her round. Villegas sits tied for 50th heading into the final round of stroke play.
The final Bruin to score on Sunday was Natalie Vo. She also carded a three-over 75 with a round that featured a birdie, 13 pars, and four bogeys. Vo is currently tied for 57th overall.
Also competing for the Bruins on Sunday was Meghan Royal. Royal shot a five-over 77 and sits tied for 41st overall heading into Monday's round.

The field will be cut to 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team after Sunday's round, with the final round of stroke play taking place Monday. The quarterfinals and semifinals of match play will be on Tuesday, May 21. The NCAA title match will be played Wednesday, May 22 to determine the team champion.
