WACO, Texas โ Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer of the UCLA women's tennis team made her NCAA Championships singles debut one to remember Tuesday, rolling to a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Ludmila Kareisova of Ole Miss at Hurd Tennis Center. The win also represented No. 100 total of Lutkemeyer's career.
Kareisova held serve out of the gate, but Lutkemeyer broke for a 2-1 advantage in the first set and never looked back. Kareisova then broke for 1-0 to start the second, but Lutkemeyer answered back to take each of the next three games.
Lutkemeyer next faces Ozlem Uslu of Virginia Tech Wednesday at a time to be announced. Uslu downed Bridget Stammel of Vanderbilt in the first round.
