Women's Tennis Pairs Reach NCAA Doubles Second Round

WACO, Texas โ The UCLA women's tennis team saw two of its doubles tandems advance Wednesday at the NCAA Championships.
The all-freshman combination of Olivia Center and Kate Fakih was first to finish, beating the 84th-ranked Ole Miss pair of Ludmila Kareisova and Anaelle Leclercq Ficher 6-4, 6-2. The top-seeded and 15th-ranked team of Kimmi Hance and Elise Wagle, meanwhile, downed No. 16 Jessica Alsola and Mao Mushika of California 6-3, 6-3.
In Thursday's second round, Center and Fakih will meet Alina Mukhortova and Maria Sholokhova of Wisconsin. Hance and Wagle are slated to face Florida's Alicia Dudeney and Rachel Gailis.
Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer, who was victorious in Tuesday's singles first round, dropped a 0-6, 7-6(4), 6-0 deciison to Ozlem Uslu of Virginia Tech Wednesday.
