December 16, 2024 | Men's Volleyball
LOS ANGELES – Back-to-back defending NCAA Champion UCLA men's volleyball was picked to win a fourth-straight regular season conference title in the 2025 MPSF Men's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' poll, collecting the maximum possible totals of 64 points and eight first-place votes.
The Bruins, under first-year head coach John Hawks, return two-time AVCA First-Team All-American setter Andrew Rowan and All-American pin hitters Cooper Robinson and Ido David. Further, all-MSPF and all-NCAA tournament middle blocker Cameron Thorne has transferred in.
The two-time defending national champion Bruins open the 2025 season with a home match against Fairleigh Dickinson on January 9 in Pauley Pavilion, presented by Wescom.
Prior to the season-opener against FDU, the Bruins will host Trinity Western University in an exhibition in Pauley Pavilion on December 30.
In addition to the always competitive Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) contests, the 2025 Bruin regular-season slate features non-conference battles with St. Francis in Pauley Pavilion on Jan. 10, followed by Ohio State and Penn State at the First Point Challenge in Austin, Texas on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18.
Other key home dates include Long Beach State on Feb. 12, UC Irvine on Feb. 19, UC Santa Barbara on Feb. 26, BYU on April 11 and 12, and the regular season home finale against USC on April 19.
Each MPSF team is scheduled for 12 regular season conference matches, beginning in mid-February. The MPSF Championship Tournament will be hosted by Pepperdine (Apr. 22-26), with the champion earning automatic entry to the NCAA Tournament two weeks later hosted by Ohio State (May 8-12).
