Bruins Down Cal Poly at Home, 69-37

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 1-ranked UCLA Women's Basketball team (11-0, 1-0 Big Ten) beat Cal Poly to extend its win streak to 11 at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom on Monday night. The final score was 69-37.
With the Bruins' win over the Mustangs (4-6, 1-1 Big West), they finished their non-conference home slate undefeated. UCLA will play two additional neutral site non-conference games against Creighton (Dec. 20) and Baylor (Jan. 20).
Junior Janiah Barker earned her second consecutive double-double in Monday's victory, finishing the game with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Londynn Jones and Angela Dugalić also scored 12 points each in the win, and Timea Gardiner rounded out double-digit scorers with 11.
UCLA found success early, jumping out to a 9-0 run before forcing the first media timeout of the game. The Bruins scored 23 points in the first quarter. Junior Kiki Rice and freshman Elina Aarnisalo led the period in scoring with five points each. Barker finished the quarter with four points alongside four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jones and Aarnisalo hit a three-pointer a piece to contribute to UCLA's early lead.
The Bruins continued to play well in the second quarter, holding the Mustangs to only ten points in those ten minutes. Dugalić scored six points in the frame without missing a shot. She also picked up three rebounds and an assist in the third. Gardiner finished the second quarter with four points, three assists, and a block.
UCLA remained dominant in the third quarter, extending the lead to 56-30. Gardiner added five points while Rice had four points, two rebounds, and two assists. Barker secured her double-double in the third period, picking up four points, including a heavily contested jumper in the paint. She also finished with three rebounds and three blocks in the third quarter.
Jones got hot early in the fourth, scoring five points in the first two minutes of the frame. She also laced a floater to extend the lead to 32. Barker scored the last two points of the game on a second-chance jumper created from her own offensive rebound.

The Bruins will travel to San Francisco to face off against Creighton at The Invisalign Bay Area Women's Classic on Friday, Dec. 20th. The game will tip off at 8 p.m. PST on Friday and will be broadcast on FS1.
