December 09, 2024 | Baseball

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA baseball program on Monday officially announced its schedule for the 2025 season. The 54-game slate for the regular season features 33 home contests at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

The Bruins are set for its inaugural season in the Big Ten Conference, where they will participate in 10 three-game series, amounting to a total of 30 conference games.

UCLA will open the 2025 season the weekend of Feb. 14-16 with a three-game set against Big West foe Cal Poly. The Bruins will be in action for the first time on Saturday, Jan. 25, as the program holds its annual alumni game at Jackie Robinson Stadium starting at 2 p.m. PT.

"We always take pride in playing one of the toughest schedules in the country," said UCLA head coach John Savage. "This season we feel we have a very strong nonconference west coast feel along with a very competitive Big Ten Conference slate. Our players are accustomed to playing the best teams in the country year in, year out."

The Bruins will head to Corpus Christi, Texas for their first road trip of the season to participate in the Kleberg Bank Classic at Whataburger Field, the home of the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. UCLA will face host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the opening night (Feb. 21), then compete against Washington State (Feb. 22) and Michigan State (Feb. 23) to conclude the weekend.

UCLA will host the Southern California College Baseball Classic the following weekend, welcoming two-time National Champion Vanderbilt on Feb. 28 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. On March 1, the Bruins will host UConn for the second straight season. The crosstown rivalry comes to Westwood on March 2 for the final day of the classic when UCLA takes on USC in a nonconference tilt.

The Bruins are slated to play three local home-and-home matchups during midweek action against UC Irvine (March 11 and April 22), Loyola Marymount (March 25 and April 29), and Long Beach State (April 8 and May 6). Additionally, UCLA will host Pepperdine on April 1 and Oregon State on April 15 for Tuesday games.

During the Big Ten bye weekend (April 4-6), the Bruins will welcome San Diego to Jackie Robinson Stadium. UCLA also takes on Michigan in a nonconference home game on March 4.

UCLA will play its inaugural Big Ten series at Maryland (March 7-9). The Bruins will host Nebraska for a three-game set from March 14-16 for their first-ever Big Ten home series.

UCLA's road schedule will feature series at Purdue (March 28-30), Oregon (April 18-20), and Illinois (May 9-11). The crosstown rivalry against USC will take place from May 2-4 in Irvine, Calif. This will be the first time the two teams will meet as members of the Big Ten.

The Bruins will welcome Indiana (March 21-23), Washington (April 11-13), and Penn State (25-27) as part of its home slate. UCLA will honor its departing seniors during the weekend of May 15-17, when Northwestern comes to visit for the final home series of the year.

The Big Ten Conference Tournament will begin on May 20 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Neb. The winner of this postseason tournament will earn the conference's automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

NCAA Tournament action will commence with Regionals from May 30-Jun. 2 and Super Regionals from Jun. 6-8. The 2024 College World Series will take place from Jun. 13-23 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Neb.
