December 09, 2024 | Women's Soccer
Senior defender Lilly Reale and graduate goalkeeper Ryan Campbell have earned United Soccer Coaches All-America honors in 2024. Reale was selected to the first team, and Campbell received fourth-team acclaim.
In receiving the third All-America honor of her career, Reale becomes the sixth Bruin ever to earn All-America acclaim three or more times. Reale, a Hingham, Mass. native, was selected to the first team for the second consecutive year. She was a second-team honoree in 2022. The MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist has received a multitude of awards this season, including Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (her third-consecutive conference award) and first-team all-region and all-conference for the fourth time. Reale led the Bruin defense to a nation-leading 16 shutouts and 0.41 goals against average. She also provided one goal and two assists to the Bruins from the center back position. Top Drawer Soccer rated her the No. 1 player in the nation in its Midseason Top 100. Reale won the Honda Sport Award in 2022.
Campbell led the NCAA in shutouts with 16, and her goals against average of 0.41 ranked fifth in the nation and first in the Big Ten. The graduate transfer from Laguna Beach, Calif. made her mark on UCLA's record books in just one season, with her 16 shutouts ranking No. 8 in the career shutouts list and No. 2 on the single-season list. Additionally, her 0.41 goals against average ranks No. 4 on UCLA's single-season list and No. 3 on the career charts. This is Campbell's first All-America honor of her career. She earned all-region and all-conference honors for the third time this year and was the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year at Stanford in 2023.
