Eighteen Bruins Set to Begin 2024 NWSL Season

A total of 18 UCLA women's soccer alumnae will begin the 2024 season on NWSL opening day rosters as the season begins on Friday, March 15.
Among the new Bruins in the league are Top 10 draft picks Reilyn Turner (Racing Louisville FC) and Ally Lemos (Orlando Pride), and international signee Jessie Fleming, who transferred from Chelsea FC to the Portland Thorns. Additionally, Ally Cook earned a spot on the Chicago Red Star's final roster after joining the team as a non-roster invitee to training camp.
Returning to the leage from last season are Olivia Athens (Seattle Reign FC), Lauren Barnes (Seattle Reign FC), Abby Dahlkemper (San Diego Wave FC), Madelyn Desiano (Houston Dash), Caprice Dydasco (Bay FC), Sydney Leroux (Angel City FC), Hailie Mace (KC Current), Megan Montefusco (Orlando Pride), Katelyn Rowland (Bay FC), Ashley Sanchez (NC Courage), Delanie Sheehan (NJ/NY Gotham FC), Taylor Smith (NJ/NY Gotham FC), Viviana Villacorta (Orlando Pride) and McCall Zerboni (NJ/NY Gotham FC).
The 2024 season kicks off on March 15 at 8pm ET/5pm PT with NJ/NY Gotham FC hosting San Diego Wave FC in the UKG NWSL Challenge Cup. The opener will be broadcast on Prime Video. Regular season action will begin on March 16 with Racing Lousivlle FC at Orlando Pride, North Carolina Courage hosting Houston Dash, and the Chicago Red Stars playing at Utah Royals FC. Seattle Reign FC vs. the Washington Spirit and Angel City FC vs. Bay FC will take place on Sunday, March 17.
