
Cholowsky Named Freshman All-American

LOS ANGELES โ UCLA infielder Roch Cholowsky has been named a Freshman All-American by Perfect Game, the outlet announced on Wednesday.
Cholowsky was tabbed as the third baseman on Perfect Game's Freshman Second Team All-America, one of just 11 infielders nationwide โ and two from the West Region โ recognized by PG.
The Chandler, Ariz. native becomes the first Bruin to earn Frosh All-America honors since 2022, when UCLA had an NCAA-high four players selected to Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-America Teams.
Cholowsky had a breakout season for UCLA, leading the team in batting (.308), slugging (.500), home runs (8), hits (61), runs (38), and total bases (99) while finishing as the lone Bruin to appear in all 52 of the team's games.
He was one of the top hitters on the west coast over the last month of the regular season, slashing .391/.452/.766 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs in 16 games from Apr. 21 on. Cholowsky was one of three Bruins, and the only freshman, to receive an honorable mention on the Pac-12 All-Conference Team.
