Ten Bruins were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Teams, which recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.

Men's water polo players Gray Carson and Noah Rowe and men's golfer Pablo Ereño were selected to the Men's At-Large Team, along with two-time men's volleyball NCAA Champion Ethan Champlin. The Women's At-Large Team features six Bruins from four different sports – Emma Malabuyo and Brooklyn Moors from gymnastics, Elsa Couvillon from rowing, Brooke Doten from women's water polo and Peri Brennan and Jessie Smith from beach volleyball.

All six women's student-athletes are eligible for CSC Academic All-America consideration while Ereño and Champlin are eligible on the men's side.

Sophomore utility Gray Carson (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson HS) was a member of the nation's NCAA runner-up team in men's water polo. He scored 14 goals, had eight steals, drew three exclusions, had two assists and added one field block while playing all 28 games for the Bruins, who had the best record in the country at 25-3. Carson, who is majoring in business economics, was an ACWPC All-Academic honoree in 2022.

Sophomore attacker Noah Rowe (North Tustin, Calif./Foothill HS) was also a member of the NCAA second-place men's water polo team. The geography/environmental studies major scored 12 goals, had 24 assists, 14 steals, 10 drawn exclusions and added nine field blocks on the year.

Senior outside hitter Champlin was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2024 NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament after hitting .376 with 42 kills, 21 digs to lead UCLA to its 21st NCAA title and second in as many years. Champlin, a CSC Academic All-American last year, earned MPSF All-Academic recognition in 2024. Junior Ereño was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team and GCAA West All-Region for the first time in his career in 2023-24. This marks Ereño's second Academic All-District recognition. The mathematics/economics major posted a 70.78 scoring average this season, which is good for fifth-best in UCLA single-season history. Ereño ranked second on the squad with six top-10 finishes, eight top 20s, 22 rounds under par and 15 rounds in the 60s. The Spaniard excelled in the Spring 2024 portion of the schedule, posting top 10s in five of the last six tournaments of the season.

The junior communication major from Milpitas, Calif. is a two-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection and was a first-team 2023 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award winner. In 2024, Malabuyo earned regular season All-America honors on balance beam and was the Pac-12 runner-up on the event. She also claimed a share of the 2024 NCAA Regional title on uneven bars. She will be headed to Paris for the 2024 Olympics after her bronze medal finish at the Asian Championships earned her an Olympic individual qualifying spot for the Philippines.

Moors is a junior sociology major from Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and a two-time WCGA Scholastic All-American and three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection. The 2020 Canadian Olympian excelled on floor exercise in 2024, winning a share of the NCAA Regional title and finishing as runner-up at the Pac-12 Championships.
