LOS ANGELES – UCLA Beach Volleyball Head Coach Jenny Johnson Jordan has announced the addition of transfer Cassie Dodd (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball). She will be a sophomore with the Bruins during the 2025 season, their first year as members of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).
Cassie Dodd
Dodd (Perth, Australia/UCSSC Lake Ginninderra) was named the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year in 2024 and was also named First-Team All-Conference at flight two with her partner, Chloe Tome. She ended the season with an overall record of 28-7 (3-1 on court one, 17-6 on court two, and 8-0 on court three), breaking the program record for individual wins in a single season. She began the season with Hannah Doyle, going 5-0 on court three. She then started partnering with Tome and went 3-0 on court three, 17-6 on court two, and ended the year on court one with a 3-1 record. Her only blemish on the Islanders' top court was to UCLA's Maggie Boyd and Lexy Denaburg (21-16, 24-22) in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Championship. She posted a 6-1 record in the Southland Conference and earned SLC Pair of the Week honors twice. She helped the Islanders repeat as both SLC Regular Season and Tournament Champions, clinching the deciding point at the Southland Conference Tournament to three-peat the title and advance to the NCAA Tournament. She was named SLC Tournament Pair of the Tournament following the victory and was nationally recognized as the AVCA/CBVB Pair of the Week. Defeated No. 16 FAU 14-21, 21-19, 15-7 on court two to help the Islanders secure their highest ranked victory in program history. She was part of a historical team that was nationally-ranked in the AVCA Top-20 for six weeks, the first team in SLC history to be ranked.

"I see Cassie as a player with a very high ceiling of potential and I am beyond excited to have her as part of this program," Johnson Jordan said. "Her international experience, physicality, and skill set as a blocker are just a few of the things that make her a great player."

Prior to arriving at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, she was a member of the Australian Volleyball Academy (since 2021) and the Australian Senior Indoor Team as a middle blocker (since 2022). She saw two first-place finishes at the Australian U19 and U21 Junior Beach Volleyball Tours as well as a fifth-place showing at the U19 Asian Beach Volleyball Championships in Roi Et, Thailand in 2022. Dodd had another top-10 finish in 2022 after placing ninth at the U19 World Beach Volleyball Championships in Dikili, Turkey.
