Softball Signs Outfielder Jessica Clements

LOS ANGELES โ The UCLA softball program has signed graduate transfer outfielder Jessica Clements from Cal Poly, as announced on Wednesday by Kelly Inouye-Perez, The Shelly Carlin UCLA Head Softball Coach.

Clements was the Big West Conference Player of the Year and named to the NFCA West All-Region Second Team in 2024. The 5-8 outfielder ranked third in the NCAA and set a program single-season record with a .464 batting average on 71 hits, including 11 doubles and four triples.

"Jessica will enroll in our elite John Wooden's Transformative Coaching and Leadership master's degree program. She will make an immediate impact on the field with her great athleticism, speed and strength on defense. Welcome to the Bruin Family, Jessica!"

Clements leaves Cal Poly as the program's career batting average leader (.414) and ranks in the top 10 in the Mustangs' record book in steals (5th, 29 SB) and runs scored (9th, 97 R). In her career, Clements is a three-time NFCA West All-Region selection and All-Big West First Team member.

Clements was tabbed as a NFCA Division I Freshman of the Year Top 25 Finalist in addition to being named Big West Freshman Field Player of the Year in 2022. She led the conference with a .396 batting average that season.

Defensively, Clements owns a career .979 fielding percentage with five errors in 241 total chances.

A native of Marina, California, Clements went to Santa Catalina School in Monterey.
