LOS ANGELES – UCLA junior Tyler Bilodeau has earned third-team All-Big Ten Conference honors, and senior Kobe Johnson has secured Big Ten All-Defensive Team recognition, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
 
Bilodeau, a 6-foot-9 forward from Kennewick, Wash., was one of 17 student-athletes to capture All-Big Ten honors, as selected by the league's coaches in the annual distribution of end-of-year awards. The Big Ten Conference lists a selection of all-league honors from the coaches and a separate list of honorees as chosen by media members. Bilodeau earned honorable mention All-Big Ten accolades in the media's award selection.
 
Johnson, a 6-foot-6 senior guard from Milwaukee, Wis., has secured all-defensive team recognition for the third consecutive year. The Big Ten's All-Defensive Team, comprised of five student-athletes, is selected by the coaches. Johnson earned Pac-12 All-Defensive Team recognition as a sophomore in 2023 and a junior in 2024 while competing at the University of Southern California (USC).
 
Bilodeau has averaged a team-leading 14.0 points per game while also registering season averages of 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.9 steals per game. Bilodeau transferred to UCLA last summer after spending his first two collegiate seasons at Oregon State University. He has led UCLA's team in 3-point percentage (41.2%), sinking 35 of 85 attempts from long range. Bilodeau has shot 50.5 percent from the field, averaging 26.5 minutes per game in 30 contests (30 starts).
 
Johnson has averaged 7.9 points, a team-leading 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, having started all 31 games for UCLA. Johnson leads the team in steals (53) and ranks No. 6 among all Big Ten players in steals per game (1.7), entering this week's Big Ten Tournament. He also ranks among the top 20 in the conference in rebounds per game (6.0 rpg).
 
Purdue's Braden Smith was honored as the Big Ten Player of the Year, by both the league's coaches and members of the media. Maryland's Derik Queen was recognized as the conference's Freshman of the Year, and Penn State's Ace Baldwin Jr. was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Illinois' Will Riley was named the Big Ten's Sixth Man of the Year. Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo was honored as the conference's Coach of the Year.
 
UCLA senior Lazar Stefanovic was recognized as one of 18 conference honorees on the Big Ten Men's Basketball Sportsmanship Team. Stefanovic has played in all 31 games for UCLA during his senior season, averaging 4.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
 
The Big Ten's All-Conference selections include five representatives on each of the first team, second team and third team. Additional players have been listed this season as third-team selections due to ties in voting. Players receiving a minimum number of votes has been designated as honorable mention selections (seven players in that category this season).
 
UP NEXT: UCLA will play in the Big Ten Tournament against either No. 5-seed Wisconsin, No. 12-seed Minnesota or No. 13-seed Northwestern on Friday, March 14. As one of the conference's top four seeds, the Bruins do not play on Wednesday or Thursday. UCLA will open in the quarterfinals at 11:30 a.m. PT (2:30 p.m. ET) on Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
