LOS ANGELES -- No. 1 UCLA (15-1) earned a pair of 5-0 sweeps on a cold and rainy Tuesday at Mapes Beach, defeating Concordia University Irvine (9-6) in the morning dual and Morehead State (6-2) in the afternoon. The Bruins improved to 2-0 all-time against CUI and to 1-0 against MSU.
In the first dual against CUI, the Bruins went up 1-0 on court two as graduate student Peri Brennan and senior Natalie Myszkowski took down Cameron Solberg and Sara Ostojic in straight sets, 21-19, 21-11.
The Bruins would earn their second point on court four as senior Madeline Bonanni and graduate Tessa Van Winkle defeated Gabrielle Reinking and Kelia Giusta 21-19, 20-22, 15-10.
UCLA's duo of freshman Sally Perez and junior Maggie Boyd clinched the dual with a 21-7, 21-15 win over Kelissa Lemoine and Korah Nordin on court one.
Senior Jessie Smith and freshman Harper Cooper put UCLA up 4-0 with a 21-13, 21-8 win over Lexi Godbey and Nicole Miller on court five.
Redshirt sophomores Ensley Alden and Kenzie Brower completed the sweep on court three with a 22-20, 21-19 win over Eva Prewitt and Ashley Rossi.
Seniors Sophie Moore and Reagan Hope combined to defeat Olivia Highstreet and Jordan Vander Veen in exhibition action on court six, 21-17, 21-10.

In the dual against Morehead State, redshirt freshman Hannah Fleming and Brower put the Bruins on the board first with a 21-17, 21-11 win over the Eagles' Peighton Isley and M.E. Hargan on court two.
The Bruins would earn their second point on court four with Bonanni and Van Winkle taking down Brenna Bommer/Courtney Fitzgerald, 21-10, 21-9.
Brennan and Myszkowski moved up to court one to clinch the dual with a 21-6, 21-10 win over Irene Wogenstahl and Bella Marita.
UCLA would go up 4-0 after freshman Adelina Okazaki and Hope paired up on court five to defeat Amelia Nott and Kaitlin Powell, 21-11, 21-14.
The Bruins' court three pair of sophomore Cassie Dodd and redshirt freshman Taylor Ford completed the 5-0 sweep with a 21-13, 21-14 win over Sarah Heath and Shea Hefner.
Moore and Smith teamed up to defeat MSU's Hollan Everett and Lily-Kate Carver in exhibition play, 21-10, 21-17.
