SAN JOSE, Calif. – No. 4 UCLA (15-3, 4-0 MPSF) remained perfect in MPSF play with a 19-6 win at No. 18 San Jose State (11-8, 0-2 MPSF) on Saturday afternoon at SRAC. With the win over the Spartans, the Bruins improved to 45-0 in the series history.

A total of 11 Bruins scored against San Jose State, paced by three goals each from junior Anna Pearson and junior Bia Mantellato. Four other Bruins scored multiple goals as junior Taylor Smith, sophomore Becca Melanson, senior Molly Renner, and redshirt sophomore Sienna Green each scored two goals in the win over the Spartans.

Steele got the start in the cage and went the distance, tallying seven saves, three steals, and one assist while allowing six goals.

The Bruins and the Spartans played to a 2-2 draw in the first period before UCLA outscored SJSU 5-2 in the second to take a 7-4 lead into halftime. From there it was all Bruins, who outscored the home team 6-1 in the third and fourth quarters to provide the 19-6 final.

Up Next: The Bruins continue their road trip with a 12:30 p.m. PT tilt at No. 20 Pacific tomorrow (Sunday, March 16) in Stockton, Calif.
