LONG BEACH, Calif. - The No. 1-ranked UCLA women's basketball team (17-0, 6-0 Big Ten) set its program record for the best start to a season in Wednesday night's win over Penn State. The Bruins won their seventeenth-consecutive game of the season at Walter Pyramid, downing the Lady Lions 83-67.

Freshman Elina Aarnisalo led the quarter in scoring with six points on perfect shooting stats alongside two assists. Four other Bruins scored on multiple possessions in the quarter, including Betts, who finished with five points, four rebounds, and two blocks. The Bruins finished the quarter on a 10-0 run to finish the quarter up double digits.
