Rudy Quan and Aadarsh Tripathi of the UCLA men's tennis team paired to earn an NCAA Championships spot Saturday while reaching the ITA West Sectional Championships doubles final. Quan/Tripathi won each of its matches at Hellman Tennis Complex in Berkeley, Calif. by way of a third-set tiebreaker. The final will not be played.

Quan had already earned an NCAA singles berth before his latest qualification. Spencer Johnson has also picked up a singles spot. Johnson and Emon van Loben Sels teamed to nab a doubles bid earlier in the fall. Tripathi is set to make his second career NCAA doubles appearance. He qualified alongside Alexander Hoogmartens in 2024.

Quan/Tripathi posted a comeback effort to beat top-seeded Alex Chang/Alex Razeghi of Stanford 6-7(3), 6-4, 1-0(6) in the semifinals. The Bruins beat UC Santa Barbara's Lucca Liu/Diogo Morais 7-5, 4-6, 1-0(5) Friday and Santa Clara's Valentin Faure/Luca Lemaitre 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(5) Thursday.

No. 112 Andy Nguyen recorded a win on the singles side, beating Max Fardanesh of UC Irvine 6-2, 6-3. Nguyen was outlasted by top-seeded and 96th-ranked Dominque Rolland of UCSB 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the next round.

At the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego, van Loben Sels was stopped just short of an NCAA singles berth. The 36th-ranked van Loben Sels knocked off East Tennessee State's Oscar Martinez 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 before falling to No. 45 Jeremy Jin of Florida 7-6(5), 6-2 at Barnes Tennis Center.
