Lauren Betts Named AP, Big Ten Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES โ Senior Lauren Betts has collected two national player of the week honors after a season-best performance against Oregon on Dec. 7. Betts was named Associated Press (AP) and Big Ten conference player of the week for week five of the women's college basketball season.

The center collected her second double-double of the season with 24 points and 14 rebounds against the Ducks; Betts had 13 points and 11 rebounds at the halftime break. The reigning national defensive player of the year also had a season-high five blocks in UCLA's 80-59 win against Oregon.

UCLA improved to 9-1 overall, 1-0 in Big Ten play with the victory in the conference opener.
