February 01, 2025 | Track & Field
SEATTLE – The UCLA track & field team concluded a two-day stint at the 2025 UW Invitational on Saturday, with the small group of competing Bruins compiling an event win in the men's 800m and a top-10 mark in the men's mile.
Bennett Booth-Genthe made school history on Saturday afternoon, running the mile in 3:58.02 to capture the No. 2 time in school history. The time made him just the third Bruin ever to break the four-minute mark, all occurring since 2023 (Ronan McMahon-Staggs, Michael Mireles).
Parker Raymond then closed out the meet by capturing first place in the men's 800m, running that race in 1:50.21. All three Bruin entries in the men's 800m ended up in the top-10, as Raymond was proceeded by fourth-place Tristan Amell (1:50.72, collegiate best) and ninth-place Andreas Dybdahl.
Elsewhere, Michael Pinckney hit the podium with a third-place finish in the men's weight throw, as his mark of 20.54m (67-04.75) was good for third place.
TRACK EVENT RESULTS
UCLA competed in just one track event on Friday, as both Harrison Dance (8:12.97) and Ailish Hawkins (9:37.00) secured personal bests in the 3,000m run.
Kaho Cichon was the lone Bruin on the women's side to run the mile, notching a collegiate-best time of 4:50.11.
Similarly, Georgia Jeanneret was UCLA's lone entry in the women's 800m, posting a time of 2:11.13 in the women's first outing in that race so far this season.

Both of UCLA's entries on the men's side placed in the top-10, as Hunter O'Brien turned in his second-best mark of the year at 5.10m (16-08.75) to take seventh while freshman Cade Sommers PR'd in his collegiate debut with a mark of 4.95m (16-02.75, ninth).
