UCLA Rallies for Comeback Victory Over Michigan State, 15-9

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas โ The UCLA baseball team rallied for yet another impressive come-from-behind victory to take down Michigan State, 15-9, in the final game of the Kleberg Bank College Classic on Sunday morning at Whataburger Field.

After trailing by six runs, the Bruins (6-1) used a nine-run fourth inning to kick-start it's emphatic comeback over the Spartans (6-1) and hand them their first defeat of the season.
ย
UCLA added two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth, and one more in the seventh to leave the Lone Star State with a pair of victories.
ย
Roch Cholowsky launched a pair of big flies, including a grand slam, for the third multi-home run game of his career. UCLA's shortstop racked up five RBIs in his 2-for-5 performance.

Phoenix Call had a stellar day offensively, collecting three hits while extending his hitting streak to five games. He drove in two runs and scored twice in the contest.

Launching his first career home run was Cashel Dugger, a solo shot in the fifth frame, highlighting his 2-for-3 day at the dish.

Mulivai Levi and AJ Salgado also enjoyed two-hit performances while Jarrod Hocking and Roman Martin each recorded a base knock.

Michigan State seized control early, scoring four runs on four hits in the first inning. MSU took advantage of a UCLA error to score another run in the second inning, then Sam Busch hit a solo shot in the third, pushing their lead to 6-0.

After going hitless for two straight frames to start the contest, Dugger's ground ball found its way through the right side for the Bruins' first base hit. Levu came through with another knock to load the bases, but UCLA squandered the opportunity.

The Bruins went to work in the fourth inning, exploding for nine runs to snatch the lead. Cameron Kim and Dugger were hit by pitches with the bases loaded to plate the first two runs of the frame, then Dean West was walked in the next at-bat to bring another run home. Roch Cholowsky emphatically gave his team the lead with a grand slam, smashing a line drive that cleared the left field wall. This was Cholowsky's first homer of the year. AJ Salgado kept the rally alive with his RBI triple in the right center gap, then Jarrod Hocking scored him by lifting a sacrifice fly to cap the nine-run inning.
