
Bruins Wrap Indoor Season at NCAA Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The UCLA track & field team officially wrapped up its 2025 indoor season on Friday and Saturday at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships. The Bruins' highlights at the national meet included First Team All-America honors for junior Camryn O'Bannon in the men's long jump and senior Yanla Ndjip-Nyemeck in the women's 60m hurdles.
The Bruins scored 1.0 points on the women's side, tying for 54th place overall. It was the first time the UCLA women scored at NCAA Indoors since 2019. The men meanwhile compiled 2.0 points, tying for 50th place.
O'Bannon was the Bruins' standout on Friday, advancing to the final of the long jump and ultimately placing seventh with a mark of 7.65m (25-01.25) on his fifth attempt. He booked a spot in the final with a jump of 7.49 on his third and final attempt of prelims.
He becomes the first Bruin to earn Indoor All-America honors in the men's long jump since 2017, and is UCLA's highest finisher in that event since Juaune Armon was fourth in 2004.
Ndjip-Nyemeck meanwhile booked a spot in the final with a season-best time of 8.06 on Friday night, and then ran 8.15 on Saturday afternoon to land in eighth place. She's the first Bruin woman to earn First Team All-America honors in the 60mH since Dawn Harper in 2005.
Elsewhere, sophomore Taylor Snaer was the 15th place finisher in the women's 200m at 23.42. The Bruin women also logged an 11th place finish in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:53.51. That relay group included Aly Conyers, Snaer, Kayla McBride, and Naomi Johnson.
UCLA resumes its outdoor season with next weekend with its first home meets of the year, hosting the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival on Friday, Mar. 21 followed by the Jim Bush Legends Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 22.
