UCLA Wins Center of Effort Challenge, Beats No. 1 TCU, No. 5 Stanford

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.ย -- No. 2 UCLA (28-4) took down a pair of Top 5 teams on Saturday to capture its third-straight Center of Effort Challenge title at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex. The Bruins opened the day with a 3-2 win over No. 1 TCU (20-5) in the afternoon and then posted a 3-2 win over No. 5 Stanford (23-8) in the evening. The Bruins improved to 7-3 in the series history against the Horned Frogs and to 24-3 in the series with their third-straight win over the Cardinal.
In the first dual against TCU, Kenzie Brower and Jessie Smith clinched the Bruins'ย victory on court three with a come-from-behind victory (18-21, 22-20, 15-11) over Denie Konstantinova and Maria Gonzalez.
In the second dual against Stanford, it was the Bruins' court three duo of Brower and Smith again that clinched the win with a 21-19, 20-22, 15-12ย win over the Cardinal's Charlotta Bell and Kelly Belardi.
UP NEXT: The Bruins conclude the regular season against No. 6 USC at home on "Senior Day" on Thursday, April 17 at 2:30 p.m. PT at Mapes Beach.
